The Light Between Oceans

I read this after seeing it in my mom’s collection of books—she had good tastes—and thought I’d make a quick note of it.

I liked it, though it is prone to melodrama. But, it does very well one critical thing that I think a lot of writing misses: It tells a very good story. The desire to find out what happens next to these characters and the emotions (empathy for their plight) it pulled from me were true.

It’s a good read that shows the power of simply telling and telling simply a good or great story.
