Very

Ack. Went on Pinterest and saw this: Words to Use Instead of Very. All of them were adverbs.

Now, I am not a purist when it comes to adverbs, they serve a purpose, but like exclamation points, they should be used sparingly at most. If you go through any piece of writing once you are through and search for the word "Very" and delete it, I guarantee the sentence will read better and be more concise.

The same is true of extremely, deeply, awfully, outstandingly, and so on. Hunt these little buggers down and make them justify their existence beyond any shadow of a doubt.

You will be very glad you did :-)
